Integrated documentation/DTP service

Sophia has translated and edited approximately 600 manuals in the past 15 years, varying in length from ten pages to several thousand pages. So, experience shows that the standardization of terminology is the most basic component in documentation. At Sophia, we refer to this process as "document engineering." We offer our clients full-service documentation from translation, desktop publishing (DTP), printing and publishing, as well as partial services in which our clients are free to select just one or two of these services.

DTP/Printing Service

With Client's Original Data File:

• We support most major DTP software products.
• Please submit data in one of the following modes: FD, CD, MO, SyQuest, Zip or Jaz.
• E-mail transmissions are acceptable for smaller files.

  Suggestions for Conserving Costs:

  • Make sure script linkages for photographs and illustrations are secure.
  • Submitting data with illustrations in the main text may result in extra labor charges for conversion into a different language version.

Without Client's Original Data File:

• We will scan your photographs and illustrations into a file.
• For the most part we will reconstruct graphs, tables and flowcharts, but it is possible to conserve costs by scanning.

Mode of Submissions:

Please submit data in one of the following modes: FD, CD, MO, SyQuest, Zip or Jaz. (Smaller files may be transmitted via e-mail.)

Consistent with our goal of providing quick, high-quality service, Sophia will forward the finished text anywhere in the world. For deliveries to Japan, it is possible to forward the output directly from a domestic printing company, a Sophia business partner.
